Around November 2021, I found myself glued to social media, bombarded by news I’d avoided since the pandemic began. That’s when a bizarre crisis hit my country: the price of potatoes jumped by 300% in just days. Consumers were left helpless, and I was furious. Indignant, but also eager to be part of a constructive approach rather than to fall into Bitterness, I channeled that frustration into something creative : Psychopotato #0 , a middle finger to the speculators who had led to this crisis by their greed, and to the public authorities who let it happen.

That spark grew into Psychopotato Nation, a collection of unique, algorithmically generated NFTs. Who would have rebelled against the abuses of agribusiness, and left the system to build a community governed by more ethical rules, working to establish food sovereignty on the Blockchain.

From NFTs to D.A.O Building a Better Future on Web 3.0

Beyond being a Food Sovreignty oriented NFT collection, Psychopotato Nation is a movement. Here is the vision :

• Blockchain-Powered Ownership:Each Psychopotato pioneer is a unique, non-fungible token (NFT) stored as ERC-721 on Polygon blockchain. See contract details
• Radical Democraty:
  1 Psychopotato = 1 vote. Holders vote at each milestone of the project. (Check Roadmap)
• Profit Distribution & Social Impact:
  • 1/3 to UNDP Sustainable Development Goals aligned farming projects.
  • 1/3 to holders as dividends once Psychopotato Nation DAO is established.
  • 1/3 to the Psychopotato Nation Sovereign Fund for future development.
• Play-to-Earn Adventures:
  Eventually, each Psychopotato will become a playable character promoting food sovereignty through fun, meaningful missions.

Redefining Community Governance through the blockchain

A Decentralized Autonomous Organization (D.A.O), is a revolutionary way to organize communities on the blockchain. Unlike traditional systems, a D.A.O operates without central authority. Decisions are made collectively by its members.
As a D.A.O Psychopotato Nation will be an autonomous entity, with its own currency, and its own territory. Just like real Nations should be, It will be democrtaticly governed by its poeple, united around values of sustainability and equity.

The main goal of this project is to raise awareness around the question of Food Sovereignty, but above all we aim to bring together a strong community fully dedicated to the cause. This is why Psychopotato Nation is committed to donating a portion of its revenues to sustainable agriculture projects chosen by the community throughout the life of the project.
